On June 11, 2025, Williams & Connolly partners Vidya Mirmira and Lauren Uhlig spoke at the Trade Secrets Strategy Summit in New York, NY.  Vidya presented on a panel titled “Strategic Choices in Innovation: Patent vs. Trade Secret,” addressing the strategic, financial, and legal considerations behind deciding whether to patent innovations or to maintain them as trade secrets. Vidya also joined Lauren for a roundtable discussion titled “Strategies for Protecting Your Trade Secrets and Yourself,” covering proactive measures entities can take to avoid disputes.

Vidya Atre Mirmira is Co-Chair of the firm’s Employment Litigation practice group. She has extensive experience in complex corporate litigation, including trade secrets, whistleblower, and ERISA litigation; whistleblower issues and investigations; and legal ethics. Vidya has represented global corporations in trade secrets, employment, and whistleblower litigation. She also advises on whistleblower issues and conducts related internal investigations.

Lauren Uhlig focuses her practice on complex litigation and trials. She has represented a variety of corporate and individual clients in federal and state courts, as well as domestic and international arbitration proceedings (AAA, CEPANI, ICC). Lauren represents clients in a broad range of disputes, including commercial contracts, trade secrets, antitrust, finance, securities, and shareholder litigation. In addition to her litigation and trial practice, Lauren provides advice on contract negotiation and pre-litigation disputes.
