Law360 has recognized a Williams & Connolly team representing Genevant Sciences as “Legal Lions,” following the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware’s decision denying rival mRNA vaccine developer Moderna’s motion for summary judgment in Genevant’s $5 billion patent suit over the company’s COVID-19 vaccines. This win follows the court’s earlier claim construction decision, which construed three of the four disputed claim terms in Genevant’s favor, including the principal term that partner David Berl argued before the Court. Trial is expected to commence in March 2026.
