Partners from Williams & Connolly’s Supreme Court and Appellate Litigation practice will present a CLE on the key business cases, major decisions, and big themes of the Term. We’ll also discuss the outlook for next Term for business cases and other notable developments.
During the past two Terms, the firm was lead counsel in twelve merits cases and argued eleven merits cases—a record for any group in private practice.
SPEAKERS:
Amy Mason Saharia represents corporate and individual clients in high-stakes appeals in the U.S. Supreme Court and federal and state appellate courts around the country. She has argued twice in the U.S. Supreme Court and in a majority of the federal appellate courts, and her appellate matters have involved a broad range of subject matters, including intellectual property, criminal law, product liability, civil procedure, and administrative law. Amy clerked for Justice Sonia Sotomayor on the U.S. Supreme Court from 2010 to 2011. Amy’s appellate practice has been nationally recognized, including by Forbes, The Legal 500, Chambers USA, and Benchmark Litigation.
Luke McCloud represents global pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, leading technology companies, financial institutions, law firms, and individuals. A former Assistant to the Solicitor General, Luke has argued three times in the U.S. Supreme Court and in multiple federal courts of appeals, and has filed dozens of briefs in high-stakes cases throughout the federal system. Luke clerked for Justice Sonia M. Sotomayor on the U.S. Supreme Court. He previously clerked for then Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and Judge Paul V. Niemeyer of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Luke has been recognized as a “Leading Lawyer” by The Legal 500, a “Rising Star” by Law360 and The National Law Journal, and among Bloomberg Law’s “40 Under 40” list.
