Parallel Circuits: An Electrifying Comparison of the Different Practices in the Federal Courts of Appeals

On April 8, 2021, partner Luke McCloud participated as a panelist on a webcast hosted by the Federal Circuit Bar Association titled “Parallel Circuits: An Electrifying Comparison of the Different Practices in the Federal Courts of Appeals.”  The panel, moderated by the Deputy Solicitor for the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Farheena Rasheed, discussed what makes the Federal Circuit unique among the thirteen Circuit Courts of Appeals. 

Luke McCloud’s practice focuses on complex civil matters, with an emphasis on patent litigation.  He also represents clients in connection with white collar criminal defense matters.  Luke has represented corporations and individuals as trial counsel in a broad range of substantive areas of litigation, including contract disputes, intellectual property, securities and derivative litigation, and professional liability matters.  And he has litigated appeals throughout the federal system, including at the U.S. Supreme Court.  In 2020, Luke was recognized by The Legal 500 as a Rising Star—General Commercial Disputes.  He currently serves as a member of the firm’s Hiring, Pro Bono, and Diversity and Inclusion Committees. Luke maintains an active pro bono practice focusing on veterans’ causes, landlord-tenant matters, and education initiatives.
