Lisa Blatt Honored with The American Society of Legal Writers’ Scribes Lifetime Achievement Award

On December 5, 2025, Williams & Connolly partner Lisa Blatt was honored by The American Society of Legal Writers with the 2025 Scribes Lifetime Achievement Award. The Scribes Lifetime Achievement Award honors those who have had a lasting impact on legal writing through their jurisprudence, scholarship, and commentary. Past recipients include several U.S. Supreme Court Justices, U.S. Courts of Appeals judges, and the law professors who authored “Garner’s Modern English Usage” and “Plain English for Lawyers.”

Williams & Connolly’s Supreme Court and Appellate Litigation practice is widely recognized as one of the nation’s best and most experienced. The practice is led by renowned appellate litigator Lisa Blatt, who has argued 55 cases—more than any woman in history—and has an 81% win rate in cases decided.* During the past two Terms, the practice was lead counsel in and argued eleven merits cases before the U.S. Supreme Court—the most of any group in private practice. Williams & Connolly has presented and/or will present oral argument in four merits cases this Term.
