On Friday, August 29, 2025, Williams & Connolly client Vimian Group AB, an animal health science and technology company, won a $40M+ bench trial victory in the Superior Court of Delaware. Led by Kevin Downey, Kennon Poteat, and Eden Schiffmann, Williams & Connolly served as lead plaintiff counsel in this contractual indemnification case that arose out of an M&A transaction. After a one-week bench trial in February and two-day closing argument in May, Judge Meghan A. Adams found in favor of our clients, awarding them $40.2 million in damages from the two defendants who went to trial. In her ruling, Judge Adams also rejected all the defendants’ counterclaims, for which they sought $13.5 million. In total, including prior settlements with three co-defendants, Williams & Connolly obtained an entitlement to compensation for its clients exceeding $70 million.
In addition to Kevin, Kennon, and Eden, the team consisted of associates Anna Tsiotsias, Ilana Frier, Malka Herman, Andrew Guiang, and Kate Wetz.
