Andrew received his J.D. from Cornell Law School and his B.S.F.S. from Georgetown University. During law school, he served as an Articles Editor of the Cornell Law Review, and he won the Faust F. Rossi Moot Court Competition and the Louis Kaiser Best Brief Competition. Andrew later clerked for the Honorable James B. Loken of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and the Honorable Brian M. Cogan of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Before attending law school, Andrew spent four years working as a teacher through Teach for America.
