Labor and Employment Partners Recognized by Benchmark Litigation

Partners Elaine Horn, Deneen Howell, and Vidya Mirmira have been recognized as 2020 “Labor and Employment Stars” by Benchmark Litigation, a guide to the leading litigation law firms and attorneys in the U.S.  

M. Elaine Horn serves as Co-Chair of Williams & Connolly’s Employment Litigation and Counseling practice group.  Her employment practice includes conducting internal investigations, providing proactive counseling and strategic advice on policies and decisions, and defending employers in litigation involving allegations of race, gender and disability discrimination, as well as FMLA issues.  She has represented a wide range of civil clients at both the trial and appellate level, in MDL and state-court coordinated proceedings, in administrative investigations and proceedings, and in arbitrations.

Deneen C. Howell, a transactional lawyer, is a highly skilled negotiator with broad experience advising senior executives, former government officials, authors, broadcasters and journalists as well as privately held businesses and non-profit organizations.  She is Co-Chair of both Williams & Connolly’s Employment Counseling and Litigation practice group as well as its Transactions and Business Counseling practice group, and focuses her practice on counseling clients regarding executive employment, publishing, media and other personal services matters. Deneen also works collaboratively with her litigation colleagues on employment-related internal investigations.

Vidya Atre Mirmira has extensive experience in complex corporate litigation; employment, whistleblower, and ERISA litigation; whistleblower issues and investigations; and legal ethics. Vidya has represented global corporations in employment and whistleblower litigation; corporations and individuals in a number of employment-related disputes; and leading law firms and their attorneys in proceedings before the District of Columbia Office of Bar Counsel.  She also advises on whistleblower issues and conducts related internal investigations.
