On June 1, 2018, South Central Judicial District Judge Thomas Schneider found Williams & Connolly client and award-winning journalist Jenni Monet not guilty of criminal trespass charges. Ms. Monet was one of 76 people arrested on February 1, 2017 in Morton County, North Dakota. She was arrested while reporting on a protest against the Dakota Access Pipeline. Judge Thomas Schneider found that Monet had cooperated with law enforcement and had not deliberately broken the law.
