Bryan Wilson Speaks at The Sedona Conference Annual Meeting on Trade Secrets

September 2025

On October 6, 2025, partner Bryan Wilson will speak at The Sedona Conference Working Group 12 Annual Meeting 2025 in Atlanta, Georgia.  Bryan will participate in the discussion of “Exemplary Damages and Attorney Fees in Trade Secret Cases.”  Both the UTSA and DTSA allow for extra damages and attorneys’ fees in cases where trade secrets are misused in a “willful and malicious” way or when actions are taken in “bad faith,” but they don’t clearly define what those terms mean. This panel will break down the current laws and cases to help lawyers and judges better understand how to handle these issues.

Bryan Wilson is Co-Chair of the firm’s Unfair Competition, Trade Secrets, and Restrictive Covenants practice group. He tries complex commercial matters throughout the country for both plaintiffs and defendants. Recent matters, including several that went to trial or arbitral hearing, involved allegations of breach of contract, deceptive trade practices, copyright infringement, breach of fiduciary duty, false advertising, fraud, unfair competition, violations of federal procurement laws and the false claims act, and theft of trade secrets.
