On April 28, 2025, Amanda (“Mandy”) MacDonald presented at Practicing Law Institute’s annual “Securities Litigation: From Investigation to Trial” program. The program takes participants through all the issues that can arise in the most complex securities matters.
Mandy’s panel “Securities Litigation: Trial of the Civil Action” discussed trial practice in civil securities matters, specifically touching on plaintiffs’ perspectives in amassing and presenting effective evidence; defendants’ perspectives in defending the securities case; and understanding special considerations for cases governed by the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act.
An experienced commercial litigator, Mandy co-chairs Williams & Connolly’s Securities Litigation and Enforcement practice groups and is a leader in the firm’s investigations practice. She has defended Fortune 100 issuers, underwriters, Big 4 accounting firms, board committees, directors and corporate officers in securities litigation, class actions, derivative claims, and investigations and enforcement actions by the Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission.
