On August 4, 2020, Williams & Connolly, in conjunction with the Association of Corporate Counsel – National Capitol Region, will host the CLE program, “If Litigators Drafted Contracts—Protecting Company Information.” Partner David Riskin and Shawnna Yashar, Principal Senior Counsel at MicroStrategy, will present the program. 

The session will provide insight through the eyes of a litigator on contractual provisions a company can deploy to protect what is often its most significant asset – data.  From using employment contracts as a first line of defense against employees who leave for a competitor to website terms of use that govern how online actors use a company’s information, this panel will share real-world examples, lessons learned from litigation, and tips for creating enforceable terms.
