Charles Davant presented on the unauthorized practice of law to the staff of D.C. Superior Court on November 9, 2017. The presentation focused on the line between advice and information. Charles was recently appointed by the Board of Judges of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals to serve as Chair of the Committee on Unauthorized Practice of Law. The Committee investigates complaints against persons who may be engaging in the unauthorized practice of law and monitors motions made by attorneys from other jurisdictions for permission to appear pro hac vice in the District of Columbia courts.
