Williams & Connolly is pleased to announce that associate Atticus DeProspo has been named this year’s “Young Lawyer of the Year” by the Bar Association of the District of Columbia (“BADC”), along with the other law firm associates who coordinated Legal Aid DC’s 2025 Making Justice Real Campaign. According to BADC, this award recognizes a commitment to the highest standards of achievement and service in the legal profession and community. The BADC is Washington, D.C.’s voluntary bar association, dedicated to fostering civility, justice, and collegiality within the legal community. Its members stand out by generously contributing their time and expertise to promote these values and improve access to legal services throughout the District.
Atticus DeProspo along with the other law firm Associate coordinators raised $4.2 million during the summer 2025 for Legal Aid DC to expand legal representation to those unable to afford lawyers to secure their basic needs. Atticus was selected as the spokesperson to represent all associates of the 2025 Legal Aid Campaign because of his demonstrated dedication to Making Justice Real and to raising resources from members of DC's legal profession to provide legal services to DC residents to guarantee justice for themselves and their families. Atticus’s selection as spokesperson is also an honor for Williams & Connolly LLP, which repeatedly has been among the top 2% of donors to Legal Aid DC's annual Making Justice Real campaigns.
Atticus DeProspo’s practice focuses on complex litigation at the trial and appellate levels as well as government investigations. He has represented individuals and corporate clients in high-stakes matters in federal and state courts around the country, including as merits counsel in the U.S. Supreme Court. Atticus has argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah, and the Appellate Court of Maryland. He has also been recognized on the Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll every year since 2022.
