Partner Shaun Mahaffy has been recognized as a Law360 2023 Rising Star for Intellectual Property. After receiving more than 1,300 nominations, Law360 selected 4-6 honorees from each practice area, all under the age of 40, whose “legal accomplishments transcend their age.”
Elected to the partnership in January 2023, Shaun focuses his practice on patent litigation in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Shaun has been a key member of successful trial and litigation teams on behalf of some of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the country, including Merck and Teva. Moreover, Shaun is representing clients in some of the most closely followed patent litigation matters today, including his ongoing representation of Genevant in patent litigation filed against Moderna concerning the company’s COVID-19 vaccine. After receiving his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of California, San Diego, Shaun received his J.D. from Yale Law School.
