Adrienne Van Winkle Appointed Co-Chair of Tax Controversy Practice

Williams & Connolly is pleased to announce the appointment of partner Adrienne Van Winkle as Co-Chair of the firm’s Tax Controversy practice.  Adrienne will be joining Jim Fuller as leader of the group. 

Adrienne’s practice focuses on professional liability defense, tax controversy, and financial services litigation.  Adrienne has deep experience defending both companies and individuals in auditing and accounting professional liability matters, including representing clients before the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). 
 
The firm has an active Tax Controversy practice, both civil and criminal.  We represent entities and individuals in tax examinations and appeals before the Internal Revenue Service and in tax litigation in the federal courts.  The firm also represents clients in all phases of criminal tax matters, from criminal investigations to high-profile criminal tax litigation.
 
A number of the firm's tax partners have previously worked at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or the U.S. Department of Justice, and are recognized as leading practitioners in both tax planning and tax controversy matters.
