Williams & Connolly partner Michael O’Connor advised Subject Matter, one of Washington’s top-grossing lobbying shops, on a deal with private equity firm Coral Tree Partners. According to Subject Matter's founder Steve Elmendorf, the partnership will "fund expansion into new services and beyond Washington." This deal is the latest in a trend of partnerships between lobbying and private equity firms seeking out investment money to hire up in areas of polling, PR, digital, and grassroots organizing.
