The American Lawyer Names Williams & Connolly A Leading Pro Bono Firm

June 2019

Williams & Connolly has been ranked #20 on The American Lawyer’s 2019 “Pro Bono Scorecard.”  The annual scorecard ranks Am Law 200 firms by their pro bono score for work performed by U.S.-based lawyers.  Half of the score comes from the average number of pro bono hours per lawyer in 2018; the other half represents the percentage of lawyers who performed more than 20 hours of pro bono work.

In 2018, Williams & Connolly lawyers performed 120.4 hours of pro bono work, on average, and nearly 50% of our firm’s lawyers performed more than 20 hours of pro bono work.  Firm lawyers performed pro bono work on a wide range of matters, including veterans’ rights, asylum and immigration, domestic violence, prisoners’ rights, children and civil rights.
