Joseph Bayerl is an Associate at Williams & Connolly, where he represents corporate and individual clients in high-stakes civil litigation and criminal matters. He has significant experience handling complex disputes, ranging from the defense of a novel, cryptocurrency-related prosecution, responding to federal grand jury subpoenas, and assisting with the defense of high-exposure legal malpractice and shareholder litigation. Prior to joining the firm, Joseph served as a law clerk to the Honorable David J. Barron of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. He earned his Juris Doctor as a Kirkland & Ellis Scholar from The University of Chicago Law School and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Chicago. A fluent Spanish speaker, Joseph maintains a strong interest in rapidly developing areas of the law, including the legal implications of artificial intelligence.
