Williams & Connolly Elects Seven Attorneys to Partnership

Williams & Connolly LLP is pleased to announce the election of Krystal C. Durham, Benjamin N. Hazelwood, Shaun P. Mahaffy, Graham W. Safty, Suzanne Salgado, Lauren H. Uhlig, and Stephen L. Wohlgemuth to its partnership, effective January 1, 2023.

The seven new partners are:

Krystal C. Durham - Krystal focuses her practice on complex civil litigation, white collar defense and investigations, criminal defense, and professional liability matters.  Krystal has represented corporations, professional firms, and individuals in disputes spanning a wide variety of issues including professional malpractice, breach of contract, defamation, antitrust, employment, and First Amendment disputes.  Krystal has represented clients at all stages of litigation and has been a member of several trial teams.

Benjamin N. Hazelwood - Ben focuses his practice on complex civil litigation at the trial and appellate levels, as well as government investigations.  A significant portion of Ben’s practice relates to healthcare and False Claims Act litigation and investigations.  His clients span the health care industry, and include pharmaceutical manufacturers, medical device companies, health insurers, pharmacy benefit managers, specialty pharmacies, telehealth providers, and hospitals.  Ben’s recent experience also includes a particular focus on the defense of professional liability claims brought against lawyers and major law firms. 

Shaun P. Mahaffy – Shaun’s practice focuses on patent litigation, primarily in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology fields.  Shaun has represented clients in Hatch-Waxman and jury trials, in appellate proceedings in the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and in inter partes proceedings before the PTO.

Graham W. Safty - Graham focuses his practice on complex civil litigation and investigations. He has significant experience representing technology companies, including in antitrust actions, patent infringement and licensing litigation, and commercial disputes.  His practice often entails working closely with fact and expert witnesses who develop cutting-edge technologies, and he has been called on to brief nuanced legal and factual issues before trial courts and arbitral tribunals around the country.

Suzanne Salgado – Suzanne’s practice focuses on trial work and civil litigation.  Suzanne has tried both bench and jury trials in courts around the country.  Suzanne represents individuals and corporations in high-stakes litigations—developing themes, preparing and examining key witnesses, and designing strategies that have resulted in favorable outcomes for her clients.  

Lauren H. Uhlig - Lauren focuses her practice on complex litigation and trials. She has represented a variety of corporate and individual clients in federal and state courts, as well as domestic and international arbitration proceedings.  Lauren represents clients in a broad range of substantive areas, including breach of contract, trade secrets, securities and derivatives, antitrust, and shareholder litigation.  In addition to her litigation and trial practice, Lauren provides advice on contract negotiation and pre-litigation disputes.    

Stephen L. Wohlgemuth - Steve’s practice focuses on complex civil litigation and criminal matters.  He represents clients in a broad range of matters, including corporate disputes, financial services litigation, trade secrets litigation, civil RICO actions, bankruptcy litigation, and professional liability matters.  He has handled cases in state and federal courts around the country, including civil and criminal appeals.
