Andrew Keyes has represented clients, including individuals, nationally known law firms, Fortune 500 corporations and a foreign government, in a broad range of complex disputes before federal and state courts and arbitrators. These matters have included commercial disputes, consumer class actions, professional liability and securities cases, federal agency investigations and plaintiffs' litigation. Representative civil cases have involved allegations of breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duties, negligence, professional malpractice, securities fraud and deceptive trade practices. Mr. Keyes has tried criminal and civil cases to jury verdict and conducted evidentiary hearings before arbitral tribunals. He has argued before appellate courts in the District of Columbia, Virginia, Georgia and Florida.
After clerking for Judge Karen LeCraft Henderson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, he joined Williams & Connolly LLP in 1995. He has been a partner since 2003, and is a member of the firm's Hiring Committee.
A native of Arlington, Virginia, Mr. Keyes has served on the board of directors of several nonprofit organizations. He has served on the board of the Arlington Street People's Assistance Network (A-SPAN), which provides services to homeless individuals, and AHC, Inc., which develops and maintains affordable housing. He lives in Arlington with his wife, Cathleen, and their four children.
