Overview
Anna Hrom is an associate at Williams & Connolly and focuses her practice on complex civil litigation, including multi-district litigation, and First Amendment and media law. She has represented corporations, news organizations, and individuals in state and federal courts, at the trial and appellate levels, and in arbitration proceedings. Anna has experience in a number of substantive areas, including commercial contract disputes, defamation, First Amendment and freedom of speech, products liability, and environmental torts.
Anna was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, and graduated magna cum laude from Wellesley College. Prior to law school, Anna served as a Teach For America corps member. Anna received her J.D., summa cum laude, from the Duke University School of Law, where she served as Articles Editor for the Duke Law Journal, president of the Moot Court Board, and a member of the Order of the Coif. Anna also received her Ph.D. in history from the Duke University Graduate School, where she was a James B. Duke Fellow. Before joining Williams & Connolly in 2020, she served as a judicial law clerk for Judge Allyson K. Duncan of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and Judge John D. Bates of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
