Jim Fuller has decades of experience in a wide variety of federal tax and related business and commercial matters.  His experience includes tax aspects of partnerships, corporate and shareholder transactions, LLC's, S corporations, and sole proprietorships.

Mr. Fuller's practice includes both tax planning and tax controversy matters, civil and criminal.  He has represented individuals, closely held companies, and public companies in IRS examinations, appeals, and in tax litigation.  He works with corporate attorneys in the firm in advising on and structuring the tax aspects of business transactions, executive compensation arrangements, and other business matters.

Mr. Fuller's practice also includes tax-exempt organizations, including public charities and private foundations.  He also works with litigation attorneys in the firm in advising on the tax aspects of litigation and settlements.

Raised on a farm in Suttle, Alabama, Mr. Fuller received his B.S. from Auburn University in 1968, and his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.  After law school, Mr. Fuller spent eight years in the Office of the Chief Counsel of the Internal Revenue Service, the last three years as Staff Assistant to the Chief Counsel.  He joined Williams & Connolly in 1981.  Mr. Fuller was identified as one of "The Best Lawyers in America" in its 2012 edition in the area of tax law.
