March 2014

On March 24, 2014, Williams & Connolly partner Kannon Shanmugam presented oral argument to the United States Supreme Court on behalf of the petitioners in Clark v. Rameker, No. 13-299, a case involving the question whether inherited individual retirement accounts (IRAs) are part of an individual’s bankruptcy estate.  It was Mr. Shanmugam’s 14th argument before the Supreme Court, breaking Edward Bennett Williams’ 37-year-old record for the most by a lawyer in the firm’s history.
