Lisa Blatt Honored with William & Mary “Silver Tongue Award”

February 2022

Williams & Connolly partner and Supreme Court and Appellate Litigation practice chair Lisa Blatt has been awarded the Edmund Randolph Award for Excellence in Oral Advocacy, otherwise known as the “Silver Tongue Award,” by William & Mary Law School. The Award recognizes outstanding appellate advocacy and is presented annually by the Law School’s Student Division of the Institute of Bill of Rights Law to a seasoned appellate practitioner who has dedicated his or her career to the improvement and enhancement of the standards of appellate practice, the administration of justice, and the ethics of the legal profession.

Earlier this year, Lisa was named “Litigator of the Year” by The American Lawyer and a 2021 “Top 10 Female Litigator” by Benchmark Litigation. In its 2021 edition, Chambers USA reported that clients describe Lisa as “one of the best advocates today. She is extremely strong on her feet, connects with judges and has an unmatched win record,” and her “command of the case law and the way she presents is a work of art.” In 2020-2021, Lisa led the practice to five victories before the U.S. Supreme Court.* The team’s industry-influencing victories have helped shape the legal landscape in areas as diverse as trademark, product liability, environmental, and commercial law.
