Enu Mainigi Named 2021 Law360 Health Care MVP

September 2021

Each year, Law360 names practice area “MVPs” as “an elite group of attorneys who are leaders in their practice areas and have seen extraordinary wins in the past year.” This year, Law360 recognized partner Enu Mainigi among its four Health Care MVPs.

In her interview with Law360, Enu discussed her biggest challenges and victories over the past year, including serving as lead trial counsel for CVS in Corcoran v. CVS Health Corp., where a jury voted unanimously to clear CVS of allegations brought by insured drug buyers from six states. “That was a very gratifying result,” she said of the case, which is currently on appeal. "It was extremely gratifying to have a client that basically had the courage to take a certified class action in the Northern District of California, which is known to be a more plaintiff-friendly jurisdiction, and to allow that to go to trial.” This year, Enu also continued to serve as lead counsel for Cardinal Health in all matters relating to the distribution of opioid medications, including as lead trial counsel in the bellwether MDL trial in West Virginia, described by The Washington Post as “the country’s most complex civil case.” “Navigating two trials happening at the same time was difficult, but I had two amazing teams supporting me in both,” Enu said.

Enu serves as co-chair of the firm’s Health Care and False Claims Act and Qui Tam practice groups. An accomplished first-chair trial lawyer, Enu has represented a number of leading companies and individuals in complex civil and criminal litigation in state and federal courts throughout the country. Chambers USA reports that she “wins impressive praise from clients,” who describe her as “fantastic, really strategic” and "business-savvy.” One client noted, “She's hands-down the best litigator I've ever met. She has phenomenal strategic vision and great jury presence.”
