Williams & Connolly Named to The National Law Journal’s 2020 “Appellate Hot List”

November 2020

Williams & Connolly was named to The National Law Journal’s 2020 “Appellate Hot List.” This year’s list features firms that “tackled novel issues and undoubtedly overcame unprecedented challenges over the past year, boasting high-profile and high-stakes wins in the nation’s highest appellate courts across a number of practice areas.” During 2019-2020, Williams & Connolly secured three wins before the U.S. Supreme Court, and represented the prevailing parties in multiple matters before federal courts of appeals.*

In her interview with The National Law Journal, Lisa Blatt, chair of the Supreme Court and Appellate Litigation practice, described the most satisfying element of her work: “Helping my younger colleagues get argument opportunities and watching them knock it out of the park. We devote a lot of time to getting our associates argument opportunities and spreading the wealth of Supreme Court arguments.” Partners Amy Saharia and Sarah Harris round out the leadership of the practice. Both clerked on the U.S. Supreme Court, Sarah for Justice Clarence Thomas and Amy for Justice Sonia Sotomayor.
