Williams & Connolly Joins Law Firm Antiracism Alliance

June 2020

Williams & Connolly is proud to join the Law Firm Antiracism Alliance (LFAA), a cohort of law firms with a mission to collectively dedicate substantial pro bono resources to address systemic racism in a long-term, high impact and collaborative way.

“We are honored to be a part of this initiative,” said Williams & Connolly Chief Diversity Partner, Malachi Jones. “Williams & Connolly was founded on the unshakeable belief that defense lawyers, and the persons who work with us, are an essential force in curbing government and law enforcement misconduct.  We will continue that mission, especially in these times, by looking for ways to protect communities and individuals oppressed by racism.”

As outlined in its charter, LFAA will coordinate its member firms to leverage legal services to create large-scale, coordinated pro bono projects that are both immediate and long-term in scope. Member firms also agree to continue their ongoing efforts to increase diversity, equitable access to opportunities and inclusion of people of color within their ranks, and examine and eliminate internal policies and practices that perpetuate racial inequities within law firm structures.
