Each year Law360 selects an elite group of attorneys who are leaders in their practice areas and have seen extraordinary wins in the past year. This year, Williams & Connolly partner Kannon Shanmugam was recognized among Law360’s 2018 Appellate MVPs.
Kannon serves as the head of the firm’s Supreme Court and Appellate Litigation practice. He is widely recognized as one of the nation’s preeminent appellate advocates and has argued 25 cases before the Supreme Court. Already this year, Kannon has argued two cases before the Court (Henry Schein Inc. et al. v. Archer and Republic of Sudan v. Harrison) and will argue a third in December (Helsinn Healthcare v. Teva Pharmaceuticals). Beyond the Supreme Court, Kannon is a member of the firm’s pro bono committee and has devoted substantial time to pro bono representation in the areas of criminal law and religious liberty.
