Paris Court Upholds $120 Million ICC Arbitral Award for Client Lily Safra

The Paris Court of Appeal has turned aside a petition to annul the $120 million ICC arbitral award for Williams & Connolly client Lily Safra and her son secured by partners John Buckley, C.J. Mahoney and associate Stewart Ackerly. Global Arbitration Review reported on the victory in a June 7, 2018 article titled “Brazilian socialite’s award upheld in Paris.” Global Arbitration Review quotes John about the win, “[w]e are very pleased by the court’s decision upholding the tribunal’s award and the vindication of our clients’ position that they were wrongfully deprived of the shares they were promised.“
