Ryan concentrates his practice on complex litigation at the trial and appellate level. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he served as Editor in Chief of the Georgia Law Review and as a member of the school’s appellate litigation clinic. On behalf of the clinic, Ryan argued a case as amicus curiae before the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Before joining Williams & Connolly, Ryan clerked for Judge David B. Sentelle on the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and for Judge Britt C. Grant on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Prior to his legal career, Ryan served as a captain in the Army National Guard and as a police officer in Georgia.
