Matthew received his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center, where he graduated magna cum laude and as a member of the Order of the Coif. While at Georgetown, he served as an Editor of Georgetown American Criminal Law Review’s Annual White Collar Crime Survey and was a research assistant. He also interned for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, assisting line prosecutors in the Misdemeanors Division. Prior to joining Williams & Connolly, Matthew clerked for Judge Derrick K. Watson of the United States District Court for the District of Hawaii. He spent time as a middle school teacher and in policy roles with the New Jersey Department of Education prior to law school.
