Leah Read represents clients in all aspects of corporate transactions and individuals on a variety of matters. Her primary areas of representation include mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, media, executive compensation counseling and commercial contract negotiations. Prior to joining Williams & Connolly, Leah served as a law clerk to Judge Petrese Tucker of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She was also a corporate associate in the New York and District of Columbia offices of an international law firm.
Leah earned her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles. During law school she served as a legal extern for the National Basketball Players Association and was a member of the Berkeley Journal of Entertainment and Sports Law and Berkeley Business Law Journal.
