Williams & Connolly Wins Prosecutorial-Misconduct Case Before Supreme Court
January 2012

On January 10, 2012, the United States Supreme Court ruled in Smith v. Cain that New Orleans prosecutors had suppressed favorable evidence before Juan Smith’s murder trial, in contravention of his constitutional rights.  A team of Williams & Connolly attorneys, led by partner Kannon Shanmugam, represented Mr. Smith before the Supreme Court.
