In addition, Washingtonian once again named partners Brendan V. Sullivan, Jr. and Robert B. Barnett to their list of "Superstars." This list is comprised of 30 lawyers who are considered at the top of their profession.
Mr. Sullivan, described as “the area’s most revered criminal defender,” was recognized for his representation of News Corp. following an investigation of alleged phone hacking. Mr. Sullivan was also singled out for his representation of Kerry Killinger, the former Washington Mutual CEO, following allegations of intentionally making reckless loans.
Mr. Barnett was highlighted for negotiating record-making book deals for high-profile authors, assisting broadcasters and producers with contract negotiations, and representing high-level government officials in their transition from public to private sector.
