Heidi Hubbard handles trials and appeals in complex litigation, including mass casualty and product liability actions, in state and federal courts throughout the country. She has handled multi-district litigation arising from transportation accidents; the defense of product liability actions involving pharmaceuticals, medical devices, electrical appliances, and children's products; and the defense of consumer protection class actions.

Recently, she has tried multi-week pharmaceutical trials in various state courts.   Her trial experience includes jury selection, openings, closings, cross of lead liability/regulatory opposing experts, cross of lead causation opposing experts, cross of plaintiffs and hostile former employees, and directs/redirects of a range of company and expert witnesses.  According to Chambers USA (2010), Ms. Hubbard “receives strong recognition for her ability as a trial lawyer, with interviewees summing her up as ‘tremendously skilled, efficient and dedicated’."

Ms. Hubbard’s appellate work has focused on issues involving federal preemption, applicable law, punitive damages, and class settlement fairness.  Benchmark 2012 names her as a “litigation star” in products liability, civil litigation, and appellate work.

Ms. Hubbard joined Williams & Connolly LLP in 1986.  From 1992 to 1993, she took a leave of absence to join the full-time faculty at Brigham Young University's law school in her home state of Utah, where she taught torts and trial practice and coordinated the trial advocacy program. She returned to Williams & Connolly in 1993 and has been a partner since January 1996.  Ms. Hubbard served on the firm’s six-member Executive Committee from 2009-2011 and is a past chair of the Hiring Committee.
