Ms. Oberwetter represents clients in a broad range of complex civil and criminal litigation. She has represented clients in defamation cases, patent litigation, disputes over charitable donations, and general civil litigation. She has extensive experience in professional liability defense, and has represented law firms facing professional liability and securities claims, and defended an accounting firm in arbitrations and court proceedings around the country from professional liability claims relating to tax advice. Her complex civil litigation experience has included navigating related bankruptcy proceedings and parallel criminal investigations, and advising on large document productions, including e-discovery issues. She is also active in the firm’s pro bono work, in which she has represented clients facing criminal charges in court and parole revocation proceedings.
Ms. Oberwetter has practiced at Williams & Connolly since 2002. Before joining Williams & Connolly she was a law clerk to the Honorable Joe Kendall of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, and the Honorable Thomas Reavley of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
